An afternoon funny

I was walking down a random side street one sunny afternoon on the Upper East Side heading to Patsy's Pizzeria for a quick bite. As usual, I was nosily eavesdropping on the conversations around me when I overheard this incredible conversation a little girl was having with her mom.

Little girl: "Mommy! Mommy! Can I please get some ice cream! Look, ice cream!" (As we pass by the horrendously overpriced tourist trap, Serendipity)

Mommy: "Yes, that's a great idea! Let's totally get you some ice cream!" (Girl's face explodes with happiness)

Mommy: "I mean, let's definitely reward you for breaking my laptop this morning. Are you kidding me? No ice cream. C'mon." (Girl's face quickly falls from beaming happiness to frantic confusion, then dejection, then reluctant acceptance)

HAHA! I love sarcastic parents. You just know that little girl's going to be funny when she grows up.
